Workshop on Palliative care, Hospice and Geriatrics Concludes

ATWS Dharamsala June 15, 2023: The closing ceremony for the workshop on Palliative care, Hospice, and Geriatrics held at ATWS yesterday evening was presided over by the Health Secretary, Mr.Dawa Tsultrim la.

Health Secretary, Mr. Dawa Tsultrim la honored the two trainers; Dr.Tsewang Ngodup la and Dr. Lobsang Tsering la with the ceremonial scarfs and mementos to express his gratitude. While appreciating the successful conduction and closure of the workshop, the Health Secretary in his closing remarks, sincerely urged the participants to render elderly care services at the settlements as per the implementation guideline given the dedication that every individual owes for the betterment of the Tibetan situation as a whole.

This was followed by an end note and experience sharing by the two trainers cum consultants and the participants. Dr.Lobsang Tsering la stressed the importance of applying their learnings from the workshop in daily life services as they work back at the settlements. Dr. Tsewang Ngodup la shared that he felt fortunate to be able to give back to the Tibetan community in the last two years after a long gap of several years. Further, he said that he found most of the participant doctors young yet very enthusiastic and supportive of each other, which is indeed a unique culture that we all must be proud of being a Tibetan. 

The closing ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Home Joint Secretary, Mrs. Tenzin Kunsang la where she sincerely thanked the trainers for their sincere efforts, the participants for their active participation, and ATWS for facilitating all arrangements and services during the workshop, as reliable sources said.
