The Additional Secretary emphasised the importance of perseverance in bringing positive social impact within communities. Prof. Lobsang Tenzin la Negi delivered a comprehensive overview of the program’s inception from His Holiness’s long time vision for a Spiritual Revolution back in 1998, highlighting its significance in protecting children from the challenges of a social media-driven world. Furthermore, quoting a key message from His Holiness Teaching that “if Education is the tool, SEE Learning is the one that teaches us to utilise the tool”, he urged the participants for a much more serious transformation in the outlook for the SEE Learning practices at par with other academic subjects in school’s daily curriculum Schedule.
Following that, Chief Guest Geshe Lhakdor la stressed the importance of prioritising what truly matters in life through self-reflection and inner transformation.Explaining His Holiness’ simple advice like “Be happy” he encouraged the audience to embrace SEE learning practices on a much more serious note by bringing inner transformations especially in view of fostering the youth.
Further, he elaborated on understanding the depths of SEE Learning practices from Buddhist perspectives of recognising the impermanence of the human life and therefore the importance of using one’s own intelligence in understanding reality, the only way which can help take positive action and avoid bad action to lead a meaningful life.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Department of Education official Ms. Karma Dickey la.
Over the coming days, participants will explore SEE Learning frameworks, resilience, emotional literacy, and more.
