Leadership Workshop for School Prefects and Captains Underway at ATWS, Dharamshala

ATWS Dharamshala, June 3, 2025: A 6-day Leadership Workshop for School Prefects and Captains, organized by the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), is currently underway at the Administrative Training and Welfare Society (ATWS) in Dharamshala.
The workshop, scheduled from June 2-7, 2025, brings together 38 student leaders from various Tibetan schools under STSS, TCV and THF in India. ATWS is providing venue and service facilities to facilitate the training.
The Opening Ceremony was presided over by Chief Guest Education Secretary, Mr. Jigmey Namgyal la along with a team of Officials from the Education Department.
Additional Secretary Mr. Tenzin Dorjee la welcomed the gathering, providing an overview of the workshop’s background, objectives, and program schedule. He encouraged participants to maximize their learning experience and share their insights with fellow students upon returning to their schools.
During the opening ceremony, Chief Guest Education Secretary Mr. Jigmey Namgyal la emphasized the importance of nurturing leadership skills through persistent learning, public speaking, research, and independent thinking. He encouraged students to gain a comprehensive understanding of their history, culture, and the visionary leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The workshop covers a range of topics, including Tibetan language and culture, cyber security, gender equality, leadership, communication skills, and conflict resolution along with some site vists. Through this workshop, the departments aims to empower student leaders to become effective school leaders and future community leaders, in line with its Basic Education Policy.
The Opening Ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Under Secretary, Mr. Dorjee Wangdue la.
