ATWS Dharamshala, Sept 7, 2026: The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD), Dharamshala, organized a two-day Feminist Leadership Workshop at the Administrative Training and Welfare Society (ATWS), Dharamshala, from 4–5 September 2026. ATWS supported the programme by providing the venue and necessary service facilities for the successful conduct of the workshop.

The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Vandana Mahajan, Co-founder of Gender Sphere, and brought together approximately 28 Tibetan women representing diverse sectors of the Tibetan exile community. The participants included women in leadership positions, grassroots organizers, civil society leaders, and emerging leaders.

The workshop aimed to provide an inclusive, participatory, and reflective learning environment in which participants could strengthen their leadership capacities, examine their lived experiences, and explore ways of contributing more meaningfully to the Tibetan community.

Unlike conventional training programmes that rely primarily on presentations and lectures, the workshop adopted an experiential and feminist learning approach. The methodology encouraged participants to engage critically with their own experiences, perspectives, and assumptions while creating space for dialogue and collective reflection.

The Workshop featured various sessions including Feminist Leadership in Exile, Power, Privilege, and Patriarchy, The Emotional Aspects of Leadership, Intergenerational Leadership, Movement Building and Solidarity.
